For over 20 years, I’ve traveled all over Colorado–at least I thought I had.

Then, I was invited to Spanish Peaks Country in Southern Colorado.

“Where?” I asked.

“Walsenburg, La Veta, and Cuchara,” I was told.

“Where?” I asked again.

Thank goodness for this new client, who wanted me and the rest of my VistaWorks crew to give them the whole package–new website, new content, PR, branding… the list goes on.

Through this process, I discovered an incredibly special pocket of Colorado, one recently unveiled thanks to the efforts of my magnificent coworkers.

I’m fortunate to have the task of researching and writing content–a job I always cherish. And now, I’m a bona fide guide to a slice of Colorado I hadn’t even known existed before August.

As a quick anecdote… my favorite part of this journey was the first drive I took through the region. Never had I seen geology like this or valleys as lush in Colorado. Most impressive, however, were the large rocks called dikes that jutted from the ground like spokes of a wheel.

Take the drive yourself. Explore the Highway of Legends Scenic Byway. Dive deeper and listen to the audio tour.
